
Author Guidelines
FAHMA Journal serves as a publication platform for researchers, academics, and practitioners in the field of Computer Science and related disciplines, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Expert Systems, and Decision Support Systems.
The Editorial Board invites authors to submit original and high-quality manuscripts for publication.
Peer Review Process
All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous screening and peer review process to ensure alignment with the journal’s scope, academic quality, and novelty.
- Initial Screening (Desk Review)
Newly submitted manuscripts are evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief for relevance to the journal’s scope and compliance with submission requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria will be rejected without further review. - Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to a handling editor and reviewed by at least two independent experts through a blind peer review process. - First Decision
Editorial decisions are based on at least two review reports. In case of significant discrepancies, an additional reviewer may be invited. Decisions may include:- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
- Resubmit for further review
- Revision Stage
Authors are given up to three weeks to revise their manuscripts. Revised manuscripts will be evaluated by the handling editor to ensure that reviewer comments have been adequately addressed. - Final Decision
The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on recommendations from the handling editor and the editorial board.
Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
1. Title, Authors, and Affiliation
- The title should be concise and informative, with a maximum of 12 words.
- Authors’ names should be written without academic titles, in full (no abbreviations).
- The corresponding author should be marked with an asterisk (*).
- Affiliations should include: study program, faculty, and institution.
- Provide email addresses for all authors (or at least the corresponding author).
2. General Manuscript Format
- Manuscripts must be original and unpublished, supported by a declaration of originality.
- Written in Microsoft Word format on A4 paper, with margins of 3 cm on all sides.
- Minimum length: 8 pages, single-spaced.
- Structure of the manuscript:
- Title
- Authors
- Affiliations
- Abstract and Keywords
- Introduction
- Research Method
- Results and Discussion
- Conclusion
- References
- Section headings should be written in uppercase, bold, and centered, without numbering.
- Foreign terms should be written in italic.
- Figures and tables must be properly numbered, captioned, and referenced in the text.
3. Content Guidelines
Title
The title should be clear, concise, and representative of the research problem. Avoid uncommon abbreviations.
Abstract
- Written in Indonesian and English
- Maximum 200 words, italicized
- Should include:
- Background and research problem
- Methodology
- Key results
- Conclusion or significance
Introduction
Describes the background, research problem, and relevant previous studies.
Research Method
Explains the methodology, system design, or problem-solving approach, including diagrams where necessary.
Results and Discussion
Presents research findings and analysis. Results should be supported by tables, figures, or graphs where appropriate.
Conclusion
Summarizes the findings, including strengths and limitations. Must be written in paragraph form, not bullet points.
References
- Minimum 10 references
- Only include cited references
- Listed in order of appearance, not alphabetically
- Must follow IEEE citation style
Citation and Reference Style
References must follow the IEEE citation format, including DOI or URL where available.
- At least 80% of references must be primary sources (journals, proceedings)
- Maximum 20% may be secondary sources (books)
- References should be from the last 10 years
- Authors are encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero
Important Notes
- Manuscripts containing plagiarism above 25% will be rejected.
- Manuscripts that do not follow the journal template will be returned before the review process.
